Aux Mêmes, once a typical
Gascony farm, lies near the village of Bellegarde Adoulins in the Department of
the Gers. The Gers is one of the eight Departments of the Midi-Pyrenees which
is just south of the Dordogne . The hilltop farmhouses which have views of the
Pyrenees and surrounding countryside are set in 10 hectares (22 acres) of
rolling farmland. Most of the land at Aux Mêmes is still farmed today,
the rest being made up of several woods and a small vineyard. We have a 12m x 6m Swimming Pool available to our guests from mid May to the end of September.
Aux Mêmes Gite
In the old farmhouse we offer Chambres
D’hôtes (Bed and Breakfast) for overnight stops or longer. The more
modern farmhouse is available as a Gite and sleeps 5 people. There
is also a small camping area away from the farmhouses which is set aside for
'Camping a la Ferme'.
The Gers has a mild stable
climate with plenty of sunshine and offers something for everyone. There are
vibrant markets with fresh local produce such as foie gras and Armagnac
(reputedly the oldest brandy in the world).
For relaxation there are several thermal
spa towns within easy reach. For more sporting pastimes there's lots of
walking, hiking and cycling possibilities both locally and in the Pyrenees.
There's also water sports and skiing in season, and many golf courses near by.
Campsite
The historic town of Auch, the capital of the Gers is
30 mins away and both Pau and Toulouse with their shopping centres,
international airports and AutoRoute links are just over an hour away.
